Your voice thread is great. It is too bad that your school can not dedicate 20 minutes to science every day. We use to do this reading program called drop everything and read and we would do this three times a week first thing in the morning. It would be cool if your school could do something like drop everything and learn science a few times a week. Does your school do a science fair?
ReplyDeleteWe have science far, but it's for the intermediate grades. Currently we take one day a quarter and dedicate the entire day to either science, social studies, or health. The days are great and the kids love the experiments that we do, I just don't know that it is enough. The school board actual just settled on a new schedule for next year and they are extending our instructional day by 20 min. I think that this will definitely help solve the problem.

ReplyDeleteIt seems as though at all ages, teachers struggle with fitting in all of the required curriculum. I teach at the high school level and that has always been an issue. You spend way too much time on one area and it makes you skip over other things that are important, but time just does not allow for it.
Hi Heather, I checked out yur voicethread...great job! Science is such a tap dance in the elementary schools. Now all of our 7-12 students have to take science so I guess it's a step in the right direction...have a great week! Shayne
